Review of Triskellion
Twins Rachel and Adam visit their grandmother in the quiet English village of Triskellion, hoping to spend a peaceful summer away from their parents' bitter divorce. But they immediately sense that there is something hidden, sinister, in this otherwise quaint town: An ancient Celtic symbol carved on the moor. A secret society in the woods. A mysterious new friend. As the twins begin to dig into the past, both figuratively and literally, they uncover a secret thousands of years old that affects, and threatens, not only the village but their family, as they come to realize that they are more a part of Triskellion than they ever imagined.
I really enjoyed this book, particularly because I love fiction mysteries with a bit of real mystery thrown in. In this case (not to give too much away!) the mystery of Triskellion is unraveled with some help from a real archaeological/scientific mystery. But this book also has a paranormal twist, for those who like fantasy, which weaves into the more factual parts of the book quite well. And the main characters were interesting; the heroes were likable and the villains were sinister. This is Will Peterson's first novel for young adults, but after reading this enthralling story I hope it won't be the last!
