The Time Paradox
As an enthused Artemis Fowl buff, I, of course, loved the book. I was border-line-murder-happy after a hooked finish at the end of The Last Colony and had been anxiously awaiting the next book for months on end, when, to my utmost surprise and delight, I had the opportunity to read it yesterday. From the title, one can conclude another trip down the time portal (a.k.a. rabbit hole) is bound to occur. Big shocker, it does … with a twist.
The toughest opponent is neither one's sibling nor one's arch nemesis, if one happens to acquire a nemesis; it is, in fact, one's self. And so the battle ensues. Artemis, a criminal, a humanitarian, a fairyitarian (if such a thing exists), is forced to defeat yet another opponent: himself. Here I stop-- no more spoilers.
What attracts me most to Eoin Colfer's writing is his subtle sense of humor. With delicious drama and giggle-worthy dialogue, the ever-so-entertaining story of Artemis Fowl continues. Well, it got me laughing. Colfer, brilliant as always, twists the plot repeatedly and keeps the mesmerized reader eagerly flipping pages as the story unfolds. Three cheers to Colfer, I loved the book.
