Review of Pandora Gets Jealous
Pandora Atheneus Andromaeche Helena, also known as Pandy, has a serious problem. When she brings in her father Prometheus's forbidden box for a school project, she accidentally unleashes seven kinds of evil and suffering on the world. Now, Zeus has given her only six months to recapture them or she and her family will be punished for all eternity. So with the help of her two best friends, Pandy sets off for Delphi on a quest to capture the first evil … jealousy.
This series of books has a very clever premise-in each book, Pandy and her friends will travel to a different ancient city to capture one of the seven evils that she released. The three girls are very likable characters and their adventures kept me entertained. Greek mythology buffs will love this book, as the gods are given interesting personalities and play important roles in helping or thwarting Pandy in her quest; the book even has a short glossary of mythological terms and characters. Hennesy has a charming writing style and writes dialogue and humor very well. I love series books that have a definite end (in this case, capturing all the evils), and I'm interested to see what adventures Pandy has before her quest is over.
