Review of The Dead Girls' Dance
Oh, how very much I love vampire books. Thankfully, Rachel Caine jumps right into exactly what I wanted to know. I hate it when authors start a book with irrelevant blabber before they get into the extremely important, dramatic ending of the previous book. One thing I like is the fact that I was unsure as to whether Michael was really dead, and no way am I going to say if he is or not. Read to find out.
Anyway, it is pretty cool that tiny pieces of book one trickle into book two. Like, little clues to The Dead Girls' Dance appear in Glass Houses, so that is awesome. This book has a lot more romance, but honestly, that is to be expected. Usually I am not a big romance buff, but I found myself waiting for more, waiting for smoochies-- so that was new for me. So, I say: Yay for romance and kudos to foreshadowing.
The Dead Girls' Dance is more intense than Glass Houses, and in my opinion that is totally cool. I think from reading the book, I am now writing like Eve in her diary entries-- how strange. From reading this book, I find myself using "like" and "totally" and "awesome" and "cool." Huh, okay. Well, the writing is very teenage-y, so if you don't like that then this is not the series for you.
