Review of Courtin' Jayd
This book was interesting to read, seeing how I attend a border-line preppy school and don't have much exposure to that degree of drama in a high school (the series is called "Drama High," after all). The plot is definitely gripping, operating on many levels, and has several little story-lines streaming through it. Jayd is awesome: she is funny but brutally honest.
In all sincerity, this book is not the best book I have ever read. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I felt like there was something missing, and I can't quite pinpoint it. The book is dramatic and entertaining, but I feel like the story could have dug deeper. There was so much that went unexplained, so much that could have been addressed. I think that what the book really needs is a sequel, closure, something … more. It felt like the end of Gone with the Wind, I mean-- what happens next? I guess I'll have to wait for the sequel.
