Review of Battle of the Labyrinth

So far, The Battle of the Labyrinth is my favorite book of the Percy Jackson series. I feel like I say the same thing about every book I read, but this book also reveals more about the characters, though I suppose that is why we read books: to enjoy, to explore, to learn; to learn more about the characters we have grown to love, to learn more about the alternate reality we're reading about. Percy Jackson, once just a twelve-year-old misfit, morphs into a strong and determined fifteen-year-old hero. The thing I love most about Percy will always be his resolve to annoy any monster or god that crosses his path uninvited.

I feel like this book has the most mystery. Nico, Clarisse, Luke, Annabeth, Rachel, Percy, Grover, Quintus, heck, everybody, they all had something to hide, and what made the book most entertaining was finding out what. Many characters I had formerly detested, redeem themselves, and many people I had formerly accepted, disgrace themselves. And that is the brilliance of people-at our core, we are unpredictable slaves driven by our emotions; we're good, we're bad, we change. Basically, I found the book crazy interesting because it altered the perception of many a character. I can't wait to see what Rick Riordan does with the characters next!
