A Review

Guyaholic is sort of a continuation of Vegan Virgin Valentine, except now Mara's niece, V, is the narrator. V is graduating from high school and, having been let down multiple times by her mother, Aimee, she tries to salvage what relationship they could have by planning a road trip from New York to Texas. V discovers a lot of things about herself during her trip: the true nature of her many meaningless hook-ups; her conflicting feelings about her mother; and why she pushed away the only man who's truly meant for her, Sam. While the story moved a little too fast for me (the book is only about 180 pages long), I felt satisfied at the end with V's growing into herself. Mackler is definitely one of my favorite authors, and she's got another winner with this one.
